Dr. Anna Smith, PsyD, MEd (she/her/hers)
Hi, I’m Dr. Anna and I’m so glad you’re here.
For over a decade, I have had the privilege to meet individuals and couples in their most vulnerable moments and be let into their most intimate struggles. I have helped countless clients learn how to create healthier, more connected, and more satisfying relationships with themselves and with their partners. I am a Licensed Psychologist, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and am heavily trained in both Emotionally Focused Therapy and trauma-informed approaches. I am welcoming and affirming of all persons, genders, identities, and relationship structures.
My approach to the work is authentic, warm, and relational. I will be curious and compassionate about your experience and also gently challenge you so that we can find new insights and news ways of interacting to help move your towards your goals. I want to empower and support you through a better understanding of and a deeper intimacy in your relationships and with yourself.
I earned both my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and my Master’s of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University. Prior to earning my Doctorate, I completed a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Boston College. I’ve spent my entire career focusing on and specializing in couples and sex therapy and believe it is the greatest gift to be allowed to do the work I get to do every day.
I currently live in North Carolina and when I’m not working with clients, I like going on long runs, working in our flower field, and spending time with my wonderful partner and our two dogs, Weller (our rescue mutt and my best running buddy) and Merle (our 200lb Newfoundland drool monster). I love epic fantasy series, bad horror movies, and always keep Reese’s cups in our freezer.
